Smiling David's Bio Salsa is my passion!! It has been a very important part of my life ever since I can remember. I really consider myself to be a verdadero salsero, that is, a true salsero. There is nothing like the Salsa rhythm and beat to lift my spirits! Now matter how bad I may be feeling, the sound of Salsa never fails to make me smile. Perhaps that is why friends call me Smiling David! To date, I have had a truly enjoyable and rewarding career as a professional salsa dancer. Among other treasures, I have had the rare opportunity to perform in some of the most prestigious venues in the world. These include The Lincoln Center, The Manhattan Center, Beacon Theater,The Lehman Center, The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and Action Park, to name some. I have also had the great fortune and honor to perform onstage for some of the greatest legends of Salsa. These include Paquito D’Rivera, Albita, and Alfredo de la Fe – all grammy award winners – as well as the world famous El Gran Combo. And I was greatly privileged to perform at the Puerto Rican Day Parade in both 2003 and 2004. This festivity is among the most memorable and enjoyable that I have ever been involved in. I am also proud to say that performances I have participated in have been featured in news channels 4, 9, and 11. I now welcome you to view the other pages of my website given in the MENU, to see what I do as a Professional Dancer; a Dance Group Director and Choreographer with Pzazz; and as a Salsa Instructor in my Classes and with Kids. I also actively promote Salsa by organizing wildly popular Shows where talented salsa dance groups give performances. Check out the Shows link to get a taste of this. For your information, I have a Schedule, News and Events link in my menu that lets you know what is going on in my world of Salsa, plus Other Useful Links that might be of interest to you as a salsa fan. As you view the pages, listen to the salsa music playing, and see whether you discover the hypnotic clave beat. If it is too captivating for you to leave the page, feel free to turn the music off! |
